some advices from me.

Well, as an artist, I know very well most of other artists deal with the same problems I do: Which is creativity.

Creativity is an issue that sometimes may lead us to not creating anything for a long long time; when we lack creativity, it feels like we're useless - like a car without diesel, or a heart without blood. But let us not get ahead of ourselves on this delicate subject matter.

I've been dealing lately with creativiy issues and it is the most suffocating thing an artist can feel - but I noticed something very important: it wasn't the lack of creativity that was suffocating me; it was the unconscious thought of obligation to create something.

Art must not be an obligation - except when you're paid for it, for art par excellence is not a commodity/merchandise/good; ART IS USELESS, AND IT SHALL BE USELESS FOR ALL ETERNITY.

One can argument saying that "art is not useless for it satisfies one's feelings". Well, my answer to that is: Do not treat art as a burden, as a job, a charge, a obligation/responsability towards others - make it as to satisfy your own need, your own well being.

"But Meuny, I feel obligated to make art for myself sometimes!" - Well, then go find something else to do! Art is not a job, you shouldn't seek efficiency, you should seek excellence. If you don't feel like your art represent what your gut demands, it is not art, it is whatever but art!

Art must come from the gut, not from orders. It must be what your body, your soul, your stomach demands, not what some meaningless principle of obligation demands. You're not a machine, you're a human being; you must be what you feel like to be, when you feel like to be. Freedom is to be whatever whenever.

Remember: Art is to be; To do Art is to Become.

You're not a machine. You're not dead; do not kill your will to be an artist by trying to become a machine - that is why we must fight against AI, for art is not to be machine, art is to be whatever the being wants. Art is the most corporeal thing there is.

Please, I beg of every single of you: Be free of the obligation of creation.

Personally, I'd love to see your true self, I really do.

I know how capitalism works. Art is a thing to be sold in this society.

But I don't give half a damn. WE'RE NOT FACTORY WORKERS THAT MUST PRODUCE NON-STOP. WE'RE ANIMALS, HUMAN BEINGS. WE REST, WE EAT, WE LAUGH, WE CRY, WE'RE BORN AND WE DIE.

ART IS TO REST, ART IS TO EAT, ART IS TO LAUGH, ART IS TO CRY, ART IS TO BE BORN, ART IS TO BE DEAD - ART IS TO BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEVER FORCE YOURSELF TO DO ART! NEVER!

great advice! personally i've never lacked creativity - i lacked courage to try to realize my ideas. i was scared to fail, not knowing that by doing there is still a chance to succeed.

beautiful

i view art for me as an outlet of my feelings.

I heard my friend say once that “sometimes art is like vomiting”.

Lmao, I guess art is an outlet for her stomach :P

I've never felt like I've lacked creativity, I think I might have too much actually. And if I never forced myself to make art then I would never make anything, I would just get lost in hedonism and vices, and they'd have probably killed me by now. Perhaps we are just built different :/

And lets be real, if you can make your art work under capitalism, it means you'd have more time to do what you love, also you wouldn't have to work at McDonalds or clean toilets.

While I see where you're coming from by letting your art be more from the gut or natural, I think that is important, I just think it's a double edged sword and is probably not the best advice for everyone to just say to never really push yourself.

I love how we are built different, mate.

Be the way you feel like you want to be. Just be. If this is the way you want to show your passion then — who am I to judge?

Find your balance, mate. An healthy body always needs balance.

What's a strong willed person that won't push themselves towards their desire?

I sometime lack of creativity and ideas, and also think that Art should have it's own job and i must achieve it, which to me is probably impossible to do even with years of art experiment...

Those problems i've been facing on can sometime lead me to either improve or jealous at the same time, but ya... Art is an hobby, not a job. (It might be is for a game developer depends on the game developer itself)

But ya, i tried so many times to atleast get a money on my art, but i failed... Oh well i still have some stuff to do

pretty neat advice, thank you for this large amount of text lol
i create art because i just feel like i should do it in order to satisfy my own self. also i always try something new and experiment a lot with what i have (push the boundaries, break the mold, whatever you call it) - more in-depth exploration like this makes me see things in a new/different way and makes everything less boring in general.

I feel the same. I've made a shit ton of music but I only post the ones which doesn't feel boring to listen to...
